Douglas J. Robinson, 60, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer at his home with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, August 24, 2022. Doug was born in Stamford on April 19, 1962, son of the late Charles and Dorothy Robinson.

2022 Coppola Bike Helmet Giveaway

The Stamford Police Association will be hosting the Timothy Coppola bike helmet giveaway this year. This event was started by retired officer Glenn Coppola after his son Timothy suffered a brain injury while riding his bicycle. His son Timothy succumbed to his injuries and died approximately two years after the accident at the age of 10. After the death of his son, Glenn and the SPA have been given away bike helmets to city children.

Opinion: Stamford mayor's vaccine mandate troubles police union board

On Aug. 6, Stamford Mayor David Martin announced an executive order mandating that all city employees be vaccinated for COVID-19 or be subject to weekly testing. The Stamford Police Association is deeply troubled by this course of action, which is rooted in hysteria and is an overreaction. Within a week, it was proven to be a hypocritical display of political theater.
