Douglas J. Robinson, 60, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer at his home with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, August 24, 2022. Doug was born in Stamford on April 19, 1962, son of the late Charles and Dorothy Robinson.

For 33 years, Doug served as a police officer for the City of Stamford. He spent several years in the Narcotics Unit before becoming a school resource officer, and most recently working in the Special Investigations Juvenile Matters Unit. In addition to his regular duties, Doug was also a member of the Stamford Police Department's Hostage Negotiation Team & Crisis Intervention team.

Doug coached the Stamford-Westhill high school co-op hockey team for 23 years, mentoring students in the community through his love for the sport. Above all, Doug was a loyal husband, father, and friend. He showed his family how to live their values and always made them laugh and feel protected. His presence will be sorely missed by everyone that was fortunate enough to have met him. You knew you were family if he called you "Cuz."

Doug is survived by his devoted wife Judy Robinson of Fairfield, along with their cherished children, James, Casey, and Kevin; his brother Charles Robinson; and a wealth of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews that Doug loved and treated as his own each day of his life.

"Loved by most, respected by all."
